Identity that I will use for Essay 3

I have decided to go with the identity of my future goals of being able to graduate from NMSU, and go on to be an event planner at a hotel, or resort. I am in the Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism, and Management program now and I love it. I would start this project out by using a PowerPoint to help me be bale to get my point across. For the first slide I would tell and show through pictures and other various things, how I got interested in doing this. I then would move on the present which is NMSU and being in a sorority and being social chair, which really got me into thinking I wanted to be in event planning as a career. Then I would show pictures of me as a internship and the things I need to do before I graduate from college. After that I have a slide about going into the real world, and actually working a big hotel, and planning the different events that they have. The last slide I want to show where I hope to be in 20 years. I want to own a spa and resort and I want to represent this through all the steps that I have to do in order to get to the place that I want to be. I would like to use the colors green, blue, and yellow because to me they are all neutral and they al represent me in some way. I hope that I will be able to express this side of me with a great passion.

Essay 3: Scrapbooking Project

For this particular scrapbooking project I would like to be able to tie in all my thoughts about the past, the present and the future. All of these aspects connect with me on where I am today, and where I want to be in the future. From all these things it has led me to where I am and have shaped me into the person that I am. I will tie in pictures with things such as my family, friends, going to college at NMSU. I also want to talk about my major (Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism, and Management) I am very focused on school right now with the hopes of in the future becoming a event planner for either a hotel, or company. I would like to maybe also tie in all my hobbies, such as hiking, swimming, and being outdoors. I feel like with all the different units I would be able to tie all of this in very nicely.

Reaction to the Oklahoma City Memorial

I feel that no matter who you are, when you see the pictures of the people who were effected by this terrible day you will feel sad. I like the fact that there are memorials that have been built to remember these people. I feel that without them people would not get the true impact of these innocent peopel who died for no reason. It shows us that life is a very precious thing, we should be grateful for all that we have.
The memorial that I feel stuck with me the most was the chairs. When you see them all lined up in the field you can see just how many peopld died. Not only that but there are also smaller chairs that represent the chilidren that died. The over all mood when looking at this is sadness and disbeleife that this could really happy, and the fact that it did. When it is dark and the chairs light up its seems to me to be even more symbolic. The next thing that caught my eye is the survivor wall. It shows that not everyone died fromm this horrible tragedy. It is a sign of hope, that life will go on. However it is something that is very sad to have to look at. To think what these people had to go through and its not even over. Everyday they have to have the horrible thoughts in their heads. I feel that all the survivors are heros because they beat the odds and they are still living.

How photography can be used as composition

The readings that we had for the past two nights really made me start to look at pictures in a different way. There is a lot to be said in one s,all photo. What I learned is that when looking at a photo you have to take in all the elements of it. Such as where the photo is taken, who is in the photo, and how all these small things go together to make this one picture. The photo that I love the most of my family is this one at my sisters baby shower. It is in August so you can tell that we are all hot, but we are still standing close. You can see that we truly care about one another. We are a very close family and pretty much do everything together, that day was a very special day for us. I love this picture because it shows my family and how united we are.

Working Thesis

In todays world Facebook has become a widely populare communication source. It started out as a site for college students to be able to communicate with one another about school work, and classes. Now it is widely used for all ages for all tpes of communication around the world. There are many different communications that it can be used you can post advertisements, dating news, talk to friends and family, and many more things.The main reason people get facebook is to be bale to stay connected to friends and fmail who you may not see as mcuh or they live far away. Facebook comes highly recommended and well resp[ected .It is suitable for all ages. Facebook inlike many other communication technologys is a fun anad easy way to stay connected to friends and fmaily as well as expanding advertisment business.

This is just what I have, I am still working on it.

Technologies and Technology Discourse Communities

To tell you the truth I am not much for the technology side of the world. However, with the way the world is working it is becoming a bigger, and bigger part of our world today. Almost everywhere you look you see people on their phones, laptops, and many other things that use the internet. We as a nation, and a world have become very attached to the fact that you can get any bit of information that you want by touching a button on your phone or computer.
This brings me to the only discourse community that I belong to, which is Facebook.com, this is probably one of the more popular ones besides Myspace. I joined Facebook when I was a senior in high school. I joined so that I was able to communicate with my friends, and family who didn’t live near me. I like how you can stay connected to everyone, and you can post pictures and let me people know what you have been up to. I feel like it is on big social web. Another reason why I think it is so neat it how you can set your settings to what you want and choose who and who can not look at your profile.
For the Essay 2, I am going to go with Facebook. My argument is have people become to attached to the web and knowing about one another’s every move. You can virtually find out most things about a person by looking at their Facebook, looking through the pictures and seeing what other people are talking to them about. It can all get very personal fast. I hope that you guys feel like that is a good topic to talk about.
